Optometry Rocks

South Dakota Optometrists joined together and passed scope modernization in 2024.  Each of you who worked to achieve this goal deserves a heartfelt thank you. 

During the course of our scope battle, optometrists developed relationships with legislators.  Those relationships paid off when it was crunch time and legislators had to vote.  Because of the time you took to share information about optometry, the legislators trusted you.  The result was a win by healthy margins in both legislative chambers.

Please work with me to keep those relationships vibrant.  If optometry has to play defense next session and ask legislators to defeat a bad bill, we will need those relationships.  And if optometry has a bill to introduce, it will be easier with friends in the Capitol.
